Rescue Me ID: 16-08-24-00259Graham (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Graham...she could see that his temperament was so sweet and calm that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Graham is such a sweet and endearing spirit who cuddles against you for love and security - such a special boy. Graham was immediately brought to be vetted and then taken to a great Houston foster home to receive pure love and begin his ... (Read More)education. Graham is just 10 weeks old and weighs 4 lbs (he is expected to be approximately 10 lbs when full-grown.) He is calm and so very sweet that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom. Graham is cute as a button and so silly. His foster has said they haven't turned on the TV since Graham came to their house...he's so entertaining. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If he continues this regiment of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Graham will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. Graham is a gorgeous Pug mix puppy with the cutest antics ever. He has a shining coat that speaks of puppy good health. Graham's calm yet silly demeanor is just who he is...he just appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Graham will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this sweet and cuddly puppy. We also feel it's very important that he is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Graham would be overjoyed one day with walking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Graham can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. We can't determine at this point if Graham is a shedder. Lots of sudsy baths, serious brushing combined with great nutrition and a salmon oil supplement will keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft. Graham will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/5/16. If interested in this snuggly and loyal best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-24-00242Dillon (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dillon is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a soft kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with the golden and beige streaks that run through his beautiful coat. Once Dillon gets a sudsy bath and his first haircut, he will absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 9 - 12 months old and approximately 15 lbs, Dillon is a perfect weight to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet small dog is welcome... while being large enough to be a great hiker or power walker. Dillon, being a sensitive pup, is very frightened in the Kansas high-kill ... (Read More)shelter. Yet when you hug him tightly, he responds with a gentle kiss and look of love. We look forward to Dillon finding a nurturing forever family so he never has to be frightened again. Dillon is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a gentle, well-behaved pup. At this early point in Dillon's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Dillon to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Dillon to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. We also feel that Dillon would be most comfortable with an adult or retired family.. or one with older kids 12+ where voices are softer and the energy is calmer. Right now, Dillon is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Dillon becomes so loyal once comfortable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Dillon is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. We've requested that Dillon be neutered prior to his transport to Denver (he will be up to date on his vaccinations). We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Dillon's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Dillon appears to be a lightly-shedding guy with a beautiful coat that speaks of both breeds in his mix. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his golden coat healthy and matt-free. Dillon is arriving on transport in Denver in late August/early September 2016. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very loyal and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-24-00239Ruby (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Ruby, at only 12 weeks old and about 4 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 8 - 10 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Kansas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Ruby just in time. This sweet and engaging Yorkie/Chi mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a ... (Read More)transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Ruby is also incredibly beautiful...with the adorable mask and pure white hair that has come out since she received a good, sudsy bath after her release from the shelter. Ruby is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a well-socialized puppy. Ruby is also bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Ruby is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs & humans). Ruby can learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Ruby finding her forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Ruby is great with children as well but we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen. Ruby will be up to date on her vetting. We're hoping that she will be spayed when she arrives from Kansas, however a very young puppy like Ruby is often deemed too young to be fixed. If this is the case, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ruby's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used Ruby will be arriving on transport in Denver in late August or early September. If interested in this very loving and fun companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Black Mouth Cur Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Gabby, at just 10 weeks old and 7.2 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 25 - 30 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began...as unbelievable as it is to most of us, Gabby was turned in specifically to be euthanized. (Read More)mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. She's also incredibly beautiful...with gorgeous streaks of gold and fawn mixed with distinguished black markings that have come out since Gabby received a sudsy bath after her release from the shelter. Gabby is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a Black Mouth Cur mix. In investigating this lovely breed, we've learned the following: Black Mouth Curs are great family dogs! They are very social and sweet if given training, socialization and lots of love. The BMC is also an extremely smart breed who by nature bonds and falls in love with their family easily They are also very sensitive dogs that are very attune to their master's voice. BMC's make truly great family dogs as long as they have physical and mental stimulation. This dog will not be happy spending the day on the couch alone. They are very social and need a human companion (a doggie pal would be great as well) and daily routines where they are allowed to play and be their joyful, fun-loving selves.. Gabby is so smart and loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Gabby is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-22-00532Bryce (male)

Lhasa Apso Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We're so glad that Bryce was able to stay safe in a Texas kill shelter. We thank his rescuers and shelter personnel for recognizing the special qualities of this sweet guy and for watching out for his safety. Arrangements were quickly made...and Bryce left the shelter just in the nick of time. This truly exceptional guy (in dire need of a bath and a serious haircut - will update with a groomed post shelter photo as soon as we receive it) is an 18 - 24 month old, 25 lb (a perfect size for hiking mountain trails and as night approaches, being the world's greatest lap dog) Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix. Bryce left all the pain and misery of his ... (Read More)previous life behind as he acclimated to the security of a foster home, great nutrition and lots of love and belly rubs! We found...to our delight...that Bryce is a very loving and sweet guy. He really enjoys his time with his foster parents...especially if it's about snuggling or leisurely walks. Since Bryce has been deprived of human attention for at least a part of his short life, he needs a bit of assurance that he's loved in a forever sort of way. He seemed to be a bit unsure... but we notice that he gains confidence every day that he interacts with well-meaning and kind humans. We envision Bryce in a home with a gentle canine sibling (although not mandatory if there's lots of love and attention given by his human guardians) and a family that choose to spend lots of time having fun with their dog. Bryce would be ecstatic to spend this quality time and would definitely form a fast and forever bond. He wants to please like none other...it almost seems like he's gathered the wisdom that guides him toward wanting to achieve great behavior. Just show him the way and he'll always want to succeed. Bryce would be great for positive reinforcement group obedience classes. He will be learning skills with his family that creates bonding and great behavior. No stress in taking Bryce to social situations...he gets along so well with everyone and is a pleasure to be with. A loving family that has the time and desire to form a close relationship with a pup that truly deserves it is our goal for our wonderful Bryce. Bryce is a non-shedding dog with a gorgeous coat that speaks of his breed mix. His sad and matted shelter coat will be replaced by a stunning white and apricot coat that is true to his scruffy breed mix. Bryce will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his amazing coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. The only thing we've found that Bryce is grumpy about is getting his feet touched during grooming...we promised to pass this along so his next groomer is aware of this. We've requested that Bryce be neutered prior to his transport to Boulder. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this impoverished area of Texas. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Bryce's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Bryce will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 8/27/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet, cuddly and fun-loving pup, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-21-00076Ethan (male)

Cavalier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

If you're searching for a devoted and loving best friend....Ethan is the pup you want to have around! Ethan, at just 18 - 24 months old and 25 lbs (the perfect size for hiking and outdoor fun), is just naturally a lover ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Ethan is a truly beautiful Cavalier (love his beautiful feathered legs) mixed with a Corgi. Ethan has all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs two of the most popular breed mixes around. Ethan enjoys his time with his foster mom so much that he joins her just about everywhere she ... (Read More)goes...it's important to Ethan to be a true best friend! He loves his people more than anything and would definitely win a lap-dog (or couch hogger) award. Ethan cuddles close on the couch with his beautiful head draped over his favorite person's leg...an occasional kiss from Ethan is inevitable. He's a sensitive guy and derives so much joy from his time spent with kind, dog-loving people. Ethan is a young, healthy guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another kind and gentle dog to play with (although if his family is loving and present, Ethan would do fine alone as well). He would love nothing more than to lie in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day with a doggie or human friend. Ethan would have so much fun exploring and taking long walks along the Colorado trails. He is always open to new activities...just say the word and up he jumps for a car ride or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood. Ethan's foster mom had the following to say to brag about this sweet Cavalier/Corgi: Ethan is a stunning Cavalier mix (or so he's been identified by the Texas vets) with a beautiful face and the prettiest eyes ever (his photos don't do him justice..he's gorgeous). Ethan is 18 - 24 months old, weighs 25 lbs and just gets smarter and more engaging every single day (but I'm sure I'm biased :-)). Ethan is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! I would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling) or active retirees who have the time (maybe a positive reinforcement group class?) and love for a very loyal and kind dog. I'd hate to see Ethan left alone all day while his family works full-time. I think he's too sensitive for that. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Ethan in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A continuing group training class promotes great behavior and confidence for a young guy just learning about the world. Ethan appears to be a lightly shedding pup. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his amazing coat (with those beautiful golden markings) cottony-soft and matt-free. We're requested that Ethan be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it doesn't...Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ethan's neuter and microchip if our Denver area vet is used. Ethan will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Tuesday 8/30/16. Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The Jack Russell/Maltese mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets...and since they require a certain amounts of exercise and absolutely love being with their people...if a walk is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to run joyfully and energetically on Colorado trails ...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. ... (Read More)Maggie is an absolutely adorable and engaging girl who favors the coat and intelligence of the Jack Russell while taking on the very engaging and cuddly qualities of the Maltese . She appears to be a non-shedding or very lightly shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy. As she loses the old hair of her shelter days, Maggie's coat will grow in shining and less likely to shed. Maggie's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes playmates everywhere she goes. Maggie is a social girl (once comfortable) and that means everyone she meets can be a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Maggie's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Maggie goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Maggie is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Terriers. While a bit fearful over her earlier life, Maggie is very open to new friends and lots of love in her life. At about 3.5 - 4 years old and a perfect lap-sitting size of 6.7 lbs, Maggie has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would like to see Maggie in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's a true family girl and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Maggie would be a wonderful companion for retirees or a family with older, dog-loving kids who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Maggie doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Maggie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/26/16. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-09-00062Kota (male)

Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kota (means Little Bear) is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag. Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming that he needs so desperately...Kota will absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 4.5 - 5 years old and 16 lbs, Kota is every bit the puppy-like kind of guy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a well-behaved pup who is very positive and sweet - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited hugs. At this point in Kota's life, he loves those that are kind to him..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Kota to a ... (Read More)family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like this little guy to attend positive reinforcement group obedience classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Kota is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. Kota absolutely loves to be loved and will return this devotion a thousand times over. We'd like Kota to be part of a family with gentle, dog-crazy older children (12+ would be great) or with active retirees who will include him in their activities. Kota is so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Kota is a perfect size to hike with as well...he can walk a very long way, Kota is young enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Kota is a non-shedding guy and considered to be one of the top breed mixes for those with allergies. He will therefore require great nutrition (salmon oil will make his coat SO soft) and periodic grooming to keep his hair cotton-soft hair very healthy and matt-free. Kota will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/12/16. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Yorkie lovers in the dog world...it's considered by many to be one of the most desirable breeds available today. This is due to their consistently cuddly temperaments and silly, entertaining personalities. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Henry is a stunning golden Yorkie with touches of reds and beige running through his silky coat..gorgeous! Once he has a spa day..Henry will be the handsomest Yorkie mix around! Due to the stress and fleas of the shelter, Henry has a bit of dermatitis. This is easily cured with a flea-free ... (Read More)environment, a very healthy diet and lots of love and calm. Henry is just about 2.5 - 3 years old and 13 lbs... and so sweet and affectionate. Initially Henry was very frightened in the shelter but was so endearing that the shelter personnel worked with him and he started to blossom. Henry would be a perfect companion for a dog-loving family who enjoys time with their best friend. Long walks along amazing Colorado paths would be so much fun for Henry! And at day's end, he loves nothing more than to cuddle against his favorite people either on their lap or close by to feel their companionship. Henry seems to have overcome his fears regarding his early life and is very open to new relationships. . He was in a high-kill shelter and had run out of options.. but his great personality and sweet ways earned him a ticket to a new life in Colorado. It appears that Henry has learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he was great (while initially frightened) with every person who greeted him at transport. He seems to have derived hope from his rescue and the possibilities of a new and forever family. We feel strongly that Henry's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of obedience training classes. Henry is so special both inside and out and deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament while understanding to initially move slowly. Henry's people should be willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. Farfel's is searching for a home with committed retirees or a family with older children as a forever spot for Henry. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. We feel that Henry would be great as on only dog. While he enjoys the company of a playful and gentle doggie-friend, it's not mandatory for his happiness. It's more the companionship of a truly loving guardian that's important. Henry will return this loyalty and love a thousand times over. Henry is a non-shedding guy who has been unkempt...but underneath (with great nutrition) is a stunning coat waiting to emerge. Henry will require a commitment to periodic grooming by a calm and loving groomer who appreciates that Henry is just developing his understanding of the grooming experience. Henry will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/12/16. We're currently accepting applications for this very loving and fun best friend. If interested, please fill out an adoption app at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Marley is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts his tiny head on your shoulder. He's so new and fresh with every possibility open to him. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Marley (and his 4 siblings)...she could see that all their temperaments were so sweet and endearing that she couldn't allow any of them to be euthanized. Marley was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a great Houston foster home to ... (Read More)receive pure love and begin his education. It turns out that Marley, (at 16 weeks old and about 8 lbs..anticipated to be approximately 15 lbs when full grown) is such a cuddle-bug...he's so sweet and endearing! Marley snuggles up and is a cuddly lap dog...and then watch out - puppy energy! Marley is so playful and so engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom. Marley is cute as a button and very entertaining. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Marley continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans, he will become a well-adjusted and well-behaved adult companion. Marley is a beautiful Schnauzer/Terrier mix puppy with the blackest of black and a pure white chest. Due to fleas and extreme stress while on death row, Marley (and his siblings) have varying degrees of dermatitis which results in hair loss. This is easily remedied with great nutrition, no fleas and lots of love and gentle handling resulting in calm within the puppy. Marley's calm yet silly demeanor is just who he is...he just appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Marley will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this very sweet puppy. We also feel it's very important that he is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Marley would be overjoyed with walks/hikes along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Marley can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Marley may be arriving in Boulder unfixed due to his very young age. Farfel's requested that he be fixed prior to transport. If this isn't the case, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Marley's neuter and microchip. Marley appears to be a non-shedder (or a very light shedder). Lots of sudsy baths and grooming combined with great nutrition (coconut oil is a great addition) will result in this puppy's coat becoming healthy and silky-soft. Marley will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/19/16. Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our sweet and beautiful Megan couldn't be more of a love bug no matter how hard she tried. Megan is a 2.5 - 3 year old Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Terrier mixes have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) coats and sweet and loyal personalities Farfel's rescues almost every Cairn mix that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be loyal and loving family members. Megan has all these wonderful traits and was ... (Read More)described by her Texas foster mom as a perfect lap dog. Megan had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound‰'Û|never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all‰'Û|Megan doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Megan is young, she's somewhat of a blank slate‰'Û|open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Megan tends to be a happy girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Megan gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's lap for belly rubs and soft touches. Megan loves to come along (and is very portable at 18 lbs)..be it a hike on a beautiful trail, running errands or just hanging out‰'Û|Megan would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere. We envision Megan as an only-dog in a home that will provide her with tons of love, exercise and mental stimulation. We think that Megan would be ecstatic to get all the attention for the first time in her life. Children and other dogs are scary to her and we therefore are searching for an adult, single dog home. She'll be a very confident and happy best friend in this type of family. Megan wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone‰'Û|she is far too people-oriented to be content with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Megan would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's truly loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident companion and best friend. Megan appears to be either a non-shedding or very lightly shedding girl. Therefore she will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (the addition of a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her coat healthy and gorgeous. Megan is being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up. Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

When Margeaux's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the terrified yet adorable (and so sad-looking) Margeaux tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up. Farfel's Rescue immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this little mix is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed an became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality (although initially a bit shy..who wouldn't be?) and her kind attitude toward the world. At just about 9 - 12 months old and a perfect lap-size of 18 lbs, this beautiful ... (Read More)girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog she's capable of being. We'd love to match Margeaux to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup..she will fall completely in love with these special people and there's no more loyal companion around. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it. Margeaux has gotten a ton of hugs and attention at the shelter. You immediately know she's sweet...and just a touch fragile and vulnerable right now. It's clear that she hadn't been properly cared for in the past and we can't wait for a great individual or family to make her the diva she should be. After some great nutrition and a spa day, Margeaux will be a beautiful and fuzzy white/apricot teddy bear (with the cutest face around). When Margeaux turns her gentle (yet very wise) look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her soft gaze and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young dog has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Margeaux's style. Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older, very gentle kids) for Margeaux ...it's not that she doesn't like young kids...we just feel she'll be more comfortable and settled with adults. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this for this beautiful girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that she could share. Margeaux is a very loyal and positive-minded dog..that makes her easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Margeaux would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 18 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs. Margeaux is a non-shedding girl (these mixes are said to be among the most hypoallergenic available). She will be the most beautiful girl on the block after a sudsy bath and new hairdo. She will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her beautiful coat cottony-soft and matt-free. Margeaux will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/5/16. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.     We got a very concerned email from Texas about sweet Jasmine ...the shelter was set on finding a home for this very beautiful (with the most amazing eyes that speak of great wisdom) and very sweet Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Jasmine looks for all the world like a purebred Yorkie..vets felt her larger size might be a bit of Poodle in her makeup). Jasmine was recognized for her sweet personality (and her beauty always attracts admirers everywhere she goes). But as stunning as Jasmine is on the outside (although this poor girl will be so happy after a sudsy bath and new hairdo) it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from ... (Read More)the heart of this pup. Jasmine aced her temperament testing (she passed with flying colors) and got a perfect on her vetting assessment. So...off she went to her foster home, to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for her transport to Denver and a brand new life. Since Jasmine has gotten an A for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...she's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision her in a home with active and nurturing retirees who can cuddle and love Jasmine with a light touch. She'd be overjoyed in a home that will shower her with time and attention and she will return the love a thousand times over. We would never want Jasmine in a situation where she's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for her to be a true family member.. to be taken along on walks, adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. Jasmine is almost impossible not to fall in love with...her manner speaks of softness and light. She also travels like a champ - she loves nothing more than coming along on errands, socializing, visits and any adventure that keeps her together with those she loves. Jasmine would also be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways..and is a perfect companion and lap dog at 3.5 - 4 years old and 14 lbs..so easy to scoop up and take along. Jasmine is such a sweetie-pie that she attracts admirers everywhere she goes. But it will definitely be the special lap and familiar touch that will draw Jasmine back to her family every time...she's a one-family girl! Jasmine will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/22/16. Tibetan Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Barry would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that active and loyal hiking partner. At just about 8 months old and 18 lbs (anticipated to be about 22 lbs when full grown), Barry is so portable that he can be a full-time best friend...accompanying his guardians everywhere a small and very sweet dog is allowed. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with great temperaments...as well as so very adorable...end up in precarious situations. It just doesn't get much cuter than Barry's scruffy Terrier face with the amazing markings. Barry was a last-minute save for us...he would have been ... (Read More)euthanized in a dismal Texas shelter if kind TX rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This little dog is just so awesome with his whole life lying in front of him...a life in which he can bring so much joy to a special family. Barry, as a very young guy, is a blank slate waiting to learn about the world. With clear guidance and positive reinforcement obedience classes, Barry can have great behavior and be a very bonded companion. He is an all-time snuggler and will cuddle his way into any heart! Barry may be frightened initially at transport since rehoming is scary ..but with love and nurturing, he will absolutely shine We envision Barry with an active and patient retired couple or individual...he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their company. It's not that Biscuit is a needy guy...not at all...he just loves the company of his humans who respect him for all his wonderful traits. Barry likes children and enjoys playing with them...but we would only be open to older kids who can be gentle and understanding that Biscuit is a small pup and needs soft and gentle handling. For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside in the beautiful Colorado scenery, Barry would love nothing more than to share the experience. He is always up for a walk, fascinated by the activity around him. He breathes in the air, so happy to be free of the dismal shelter environment. Then, maybe his favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed beside his favorite people. Barry is a non-shedding or lightly shedding guy and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat cotton-soft and matt-free. Barry isn't suggested for those with very severe allergy concerns. Barry will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/22/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Corgi Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Farfel's Rescue received emails from our Texas rescuer about Lincoln...no one could accept that this very handsome and super-sweet dog was about to be euthanized in Texas. Both the shelter and the rescuers were set on finding a foster, rescue or adopter immediately for this pup. There were several opinions on Lincoln's breed combo but the Cardigan Welsh Corgi was by far the most noted. Lincoln was recognized as having a great personality and this earned him a ticket out of the shelter and a transport to Colorado. Lincoln carries the beautiful markings and body type of the Cardigan Corgi. As beautiful as Lincoln is on the outside, it ... (Read More)doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this 4 month old and 12 lb puppy. Lincoln is such a people pup...he loves kids of all ages but they must be very gentle and handle him kindly. We envision Lincoln with an active retired couple or individual or a family with older kids who want an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people. Being a puppy, Lincoln loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He would be a natural in positive reinforcement group obedience classes and agility class. He would love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please that he would excel. We would never want Lincoln in a situation where he's alone for many long hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on hikes (he would be overjoyed and a natural on the trails), adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. He would also be overjoyed to hike along gorgeous Colorado paths..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. He's almost impossible not to fall in love with. Lincoln is a blank slate just waiting for direction to be the best adult dog he can be. Rescue Me ID: 16-07-10-00119Isaac (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It got scarily close to Isaac's euthanasia time in a dismal Texas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of his own..it's all a matter of space. He came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate Texas rescuer (she has a soft spot for a really cute fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Isaac was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. His rescuer, shelter workers and Isaac's foster haven't stopped raving about this adorable and engaging guy ever since. There was some indecision ... (Read More)about Isaac's breed mix...the shelter initially said Papillon, a town vet thought a Schnauzer with a bit of scruffy Terrier. We're simply not sure (but he definitely has the cutest mop-top we've ever seen) and would be a great addition to any family. Isaac, at 9 - 12 months old and 17 lbs is the perfect size to take along just about anywhere. He is such a perfect candidate to find his forever home in Colorado - he's a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany his favorite person on any path. We envision Isaac with an active family with older, respectful kids or retirees who enjoy spending their time with a comical fuzzy guy He would be a very family-oriented pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this guy. A fun time would be exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent socializing with gentle canines and their dog-loving families. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Isaac than to snuggle down with his family of humans and canines..he is unknown with cats. Isaac can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to any home. He is a low-maintenance guy whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. Isaac would shine in positive reinforcement group obedience classes since his desire to please is so strong...and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and his people. After passing his temperament tests and vetting with flying colors, Isaac is in a foster home in Texas being reminded of his basic house skills. His foster family has described him as a lovebug and a sweetpea...can we possibly say more? They did say that Isaac may need a bit of time after his long transport to Denver to be his happy and very loving self. Isaac is in need of a sudsy bath and a great brushing‰'Û|. he will emerge with an amazing coat that over time will speak of cottony softness and good health. Isaac will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep this lovely coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Isaac will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 7/13/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Max looked every bit the stray as he came into a very high-kill shelter in Texas. It was possible that this beautiful Shih Tzu mix (with the most expressive dark eyes ever) had never had a haircut or a bath in his entire 1.5-2 year life. Max represents the sad opportunism that is so present in breeding what is looked at as designer breeds. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully•À%BD•À%BD%BD'•À%BD•À%BD%BD|and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. But under all that hair and matts is a gorgeous 15 llb guy with the sweetest soul ever. After a sudsy bath, a shaving of his matts (coconut oil would feel so great on Max's ... (Read More)skin) followed by a regimen of great nutrition... and Max will be a very handsome guy! He has a wonderful disposition and through it all, strongly has the desire to love and be loved. Max is never one to turn down a loving lap or a friendly canine companion. He tries so hard to show that he's worthy of a permanent family to adore and respect him. His little tail wags hesitantly when he sees a possibility for a pat or a loving gesture. Max would be overjoyed with family love and attention•À%BD•À%BD%BD'•À%BD•À%BD%BD|it would bring a light to those sad eyes! Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Shih Tzu We're seeking a family that wants to spend time with a furry best friend.
