Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00547Jasper (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered

What a scary world it is out there when you're homeless and in a high-kill shelter...especially when you just weigh 6 lbs and are only about 1.5 to 2 years old. Jasper an adorable Poodle/Maltese mix found himself in this situation through no fault of his own. His plight was the result of irresponsibility and neglect...such a sad statement for the poor care that a was bestowed on this harmless dog. Jasper was the luckiest guy around that day...he was discovered and rescued by RPM's rescuers who felt compassion for this sweet guy. He was a matted mess on the outside.. but pure and grateful devotion on the inside! Jasper's rescuer ... (Read More)brought him home and dedicated herself to caring for him...and reassuring his abandoned psyche that he was safe. This guy deserved a ticket to Colorado and a committed, loving family. He would so love walks down mountain trails...he loves being outside and is capable of being a companion for hikes. Jasper is definitely searching for a human friend that he can devote his heart to....and that person will be the recipient of 100% of what this little dog has to offer. After initial bonding, Jasper's a steadfast companion that takes his relationships seriously. We're searching for an adult home for ..a retired couple or individual who enjoy spending lots of time with a fuzzy guy would be great! It's not that Jasper dislikes kids..we just feel he'd be more secure in the calmer reliability of an adult home. He also gets along with other dogs and would enjoy the relationship of smaller, gentle canines. He would blossom with the attention and caring touch of a dedicated family. In this environment, Jasper will glow with joy at his incredible luck. He also loves to please...and when he's successful, he struts his stuff with high self-esteem. Jasper is a non-shedding pup (maybe a hair or 2) and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his awesome, cottony coat healthy and matt-free. Jasper will be completely vetted, neutered, and vaccinated. Jasper is arriving on transport in Boulder, 9/16/16. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very sweet companion. (Less)

Brussels Griffon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sarge could be that dream come true pup for a family or retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft and very sweet companion. The Brussels Griffon/Cairn Terrier mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and fun-loving family dog. Sarge's story is all too common in his extremely close call to being euthanized in a scary Texas shelter. But who could ignore her adorable manner and desire to bond with someone who would be his best friend? Sarge, while initially shy...his engaging and adorable nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. He is such a wonderful being...we think he ... (Read More)represents some of the best qualities of the Brussels and the Cairn Terrier. Sarge, with his loving attitude, seems to be in the process of leaving behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. At about 3 years old and 9 lbs, Sarge is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would love to see Sarge in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's learning about being social and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Sarge would also be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Sarge is a bit frightened of the quickness of movement and loud voices of young kids...it is for this reason that we feel that Sarge would be happiest in an adult home. It's not an absolute requirement..but we'd like to place Sarge in a home with another small and very gentle dog. He enjoys his relationships with these pups and it makes him happy to just hang out together in the sunshine. Sarge will do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk, a visit with friends, or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Sarges's trustworthy, gentle temperament and extremely loving ways. Sarge appears to be a very lightly shedding pup..although it's a bit difficult to tell until he grows out his sad shelter coat. He'll require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy and soft as cotton. Sarge will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 9/16/16. We're currently accepting applications for this friendly and kind best friend. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00534Trevor (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Trevor...she could see that his temperament was so kind and sweet that she couldn't allow them to be euthanized. Trevor is the kind of very endearing puppy that will lie in your arms and give a periodic loving kiss. His great personality was the key to his being noticed and therefore rescued. Trevor was immediately brought to be vetted and ... (Read More)temperament tested... and then brought to a great Houston foster home to receive pure love and begin his education. It turns out that Trevor, at only 9 weeks old and 4 lbs. (expected by the vet to be approximately 35 - 40 lbs when full-grown) is so sweet and super smart.. it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom to watch Trevor blossom. Trevor is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him..he's incredibly entertaining when he gets going. If he continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Trevor will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. Trevor is an adorable Labrador Retriever/Border Collie Dog mix puppy with a stunning black and white coat that, with great nutrition and care, will speak of the beauty of this very loving puppy. Trevor was diagnosed with dermatitis caused by fleas, shelter dirt and stress. He has since been moved into a foster home with clean conditions, lots of love and far less stress..and is doing very well. Trevor calm and sweet demeanor is just who he is...he just appears to be a bit more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If Sailor is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-adjusted dog who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of loving and committed family we're searching for for Trevor. We also feel it's very important that Trevor is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will learn valuable socialization skills through puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement obedience training classes. Trevor will also be overjoyed with hiking with his best human (and canine) friends along Colorado paths enjoying the sunshine. We're searching for a family for Trevor that spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Trevor can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 9/16/16. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. It is Cami's love affair with life and all the hardships that she's suffered along the way that motivates us to put Cami through Heartworm treatments..her precious life deserves to be saved! Cami has tested low HW+ and Farfel's (with the help of Dr G in Denver) has volunteered to save this very special dog's life. The heart worm treatment process involves several shots followed by a short period of quiet time for the dog. We have found this protocol to be very successful and the dogs go on to live long, happy lives. We are seeking an adopter to lovingly care for Cami as she becomes Heartworm negative. It's quite an easy rehab process as it only entails mellow time with soft words and belly rubs. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00319Storm (female)

English Springer Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

What a sweet and kind English Springer Spaniel mix our Storm is! At 3 years old and just about 39 lbs, Storm is an incredibly beautiful girl. We all know Storm has arrived when we see the wag that starts at her tail and becomes a full-blown body wiggle...Storm is greeting either a friend or anyone who has the potential to be a future playmate. She is initially cautious...assessing the situation to make sure all is OK. This makes perfect sense as she's been through time spent at a high-kill shelter waiting for her pending euthanasia date. When she was identified with a great temperament, Farfel's spoke up to bring Storm to safety (and a ... (Read More)new forever family) in Colorado. Once she senses that all present are her friends, Storm is so warm and friendly that she always hopes every pat and kind word will turn into a friend. Both people and other dogs are drawn to Storm for her kind attitude and playful ways. She is learning to play fetch and waits expectantly...with her eyes so bright and joyful..to run off again after the ball. Storm seems to have a bit of leash experience as she's developed some skills and seems to love the experience. Farfel's Rescue has determined that Storm needs a mellow home where she is an active and important member of the family. We feel that this would be more possible in an adult home (retirees would be perfect) where there's a more predictable environment. Storm would be overjoyed to spend parts of the day together either hiking or walking through the beauty of Colorado. Then at day's end, she's the ultimate snuggler and sleeps soundly through the night. It is Storm's love affair with life and all the hardships that she's suffered along the way that motivates us to put Storm through Heartworm treatments..her precious life deserves to be saved! Storm has tested low HW+ and Farfel's (with the help of Rescued Pets Movement of Houston and Dr G in Denver) has volunteered to save this very special dog's life. The heart worm treatment process involves several shots followed by a short period of quiet time for the dog. We have found this protocol to be very successful and the dogs go on to live long, happy lives. We are seeking an adopter to lovingly care for Storm as she becomes Heartworm negative. It's quite an easy rehab process as it only entails mellow time with soft words and belly rubs. Farfel's will pay the vet bills and provide premium food and treats for this special pup as he becomes healthily heartworm-free. Storm (like all dogs) would benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes that included the whole family - she is a super-smart girl who truly wants to please. Great training will give Storm the skills to be an excellent adult dog. These type of classes will also bring out the great qualities of this English Springer Spaniel mix as well as creating a tightly-knit bonding with all family members . Storm has a beautiful coat with such distinctive markings. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her hair healthy and matt-free. Storm will arrive on transport in Denver on September 9th. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-06-00114Jewel (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The Shih Tzu/Poodle is a favorite of the mixed breed dogs. We all seem to love the combination of the outgoing nature and fun personality of the Shih Tzu combined with the smart and intuitive nature of the Poodle. Jewel appears to be a perfect combo of these two popular breeds. Her gorgeous silver/charcoal coat lights up her adorable face. She will be the most beautiful girl around when she gets a much-deserved grooming..we'll update with photos when we receive them. Jewel is obviously very special...she was found wandering sadly through a New Mexico neighborhood and a wonderful foster couldn't let her go..she brought her into her home ... (Read More)to heal and to ready her for a forever home. At just about 18 - 24 months old and approximately 12 lbs, Jewel shines with an engaging and incredibly sweet disposition. She is an active girl whose tail never, ever stops wagging. She loves to be included in all fun and would love nothing more than socializing or a neighborhood walk with her family. She enjoys gentle, respectful older kids and would be an active participant in outdoor fun in the yard or a walk to the park. She also enjoys the company of other dogs and would always enjoy a shared walk. Somewhere along the line, we think that Jewel was given love and respect..probably because she's so capable of returning warmth and kindness. Jewel is great to take along anywhere there are groups of dog-loving people. She's a bit shy but always warms up with sweetness and warm hugs. We feel that Jewel would do well in any home that offered her love, time (long hours left alone at home wouldn't be in the best interest of this social and sensitive pup), appropriate exercise/ mental stimulation and positive reinforcement training to make her the best dog she can possibly be. We've just received a foster report from Texas saying that Jewel is wonderful! She'll jump on your lap, cuddle with you, and then lay her little head on your chest with a big sigh. Jewel also loves taking walks socializing with kind folks and then loves to get home to greet my dog to play in the yard or just lie in the sunshine. I fell in love with Jewel the second I met her and felt her goodness. I loved her enough to strongly consider adding a 4th dog to our pack..but these thoughts weren't shared by my husband I hope she is adopted into a family that truly loves and appreciates her. My dear, sweet Jewel...I love you so and wish you a place in the best home ever! Jewel is a non-shedding girl (great for those with allergy concerns) and therefore requires great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep her cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Jewel be spayed prior to her transport to Denver. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jewel's spay and microchip at our Denver vet. Jewel will arrive on transport in Denver on Saturday 9/10/16. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-04-00102Radar (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Radar, at only 9 weeks old and 8 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 35 - 40 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Radar just in time. This sweet and engaging Lab/Border Collie mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a ... (Read More)transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Radar is also incredibly beautiful...with striking pure white hair with amazing silver markings that have come out since he received a sudsy bath. Radar is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a well-socialized puppy. Radar is also engaging and loving...clearly having no memory of his scary start. Since Radar is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs and humans). Radar can learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Radar finding his forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Radar is great with children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with slightly older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent puppy training regimen. Radar will be up to date on his vetting. We're hoping that he will be neutered when he arrives from Texas, however a very young puppy like Radar is often deemed too young to be fixed. If this is the case, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Radar's neuter if our Denver vet is used Radar will be arriving on transport in Boulder sometime in mid to late September. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-04-00025Smokey (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It got scarily close to Smokey's euthanasia time in a dismal Texas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of his own..it's all a matter of space. He came in at a very crowded time and was therefore given just hours to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate Texas rescuer (they have a soft spot for a fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Smokey was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. They have not stopped raving about this adorable and engaging guy ever since. Smokey, at about 7 - 7.5 years old and 7 lbs is exactly the right size to take along just about anywhere. He is the perfect candidate to ... (Read More)find his forever home in Colorado - Smokey is a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany his favorite person everywhere a small and sweet dog is welcome. We envision Smokey in a home with active retirees who enjoy spending their time with a comical fuzzy guy He would be a very family-oriented pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this pup. A fun time would be exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent socializing with like-sized gentle canines and their dog-loving families. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Smokey than to snuggle down with his family of humans and canines. He can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to any family. Smokey is a low-maintenance guy whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. He would shine in positive reinforcement group obedience classes since his desire to please is so strong...and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, motivated dog and his people. After passing his temperament tests and vetting with flying colors, Smokey is in a foster home in Houston being reminded of his house skills. We'll give updates as we gain more insight into his personality traits. Smokey is a non-shedding guy and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes available today. His gorgeous cottony-soft waves of shining hair will become more beautiful with great nutrition and care. Smokey will require a commitment to periodic grooming to keep his lovely coat healthy and matt-free. . Smokey will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 9/9/16. Maltese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

It's hard to imagine why this truly beautiful (inside and out) Long-haired Dachshund/Maltese was in a high-kill shelter in Texas. You'll notice that even in her shelter photo...Emma is curious and brave. This very sweet girl has a never-ending spirit of love and joy. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Emma's life and nursed her body and spirit back to joy and well-being. It's now getting to the time when Emma is ready to be transported to her new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for Emma's Texas foster mom to say goodbye...she knows that she will have a great life. The following is a description of Emma by her ... (Read More)foster mom: --Emma is such a sweet pup just waiting to blossom. I've enjoyed watching her learn that the world can be a loving and positive place. Emma had a hard start - but now she's learning about treats, belly rubs and that she's a very valuable girl! She may very well be initially shy or frightened, but just give her a bit of time and you'll have a new best friend. Emma loves the sunshine and playing outside...she has exactly the appropriate amount of energy for a 12 - 18 month old, 8 lb healthy pup. She would do well with a family who is home a lot to take walks, cuddle with and play together at the park - she would love that! After she's had exercise and stimulation, she's ready to chill on the couch. Emma loves to snuggle, be petted and has been said to not get overly grumpy about very much of anything. Her potentially gorgeous, scruffy hair appears to be non-shedding and will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep her coat as beautiful as it can be. Emma appears to be fine with other dogs but appreciates those that are respectful of her smaller size. Emma has been great with my 14 and 15 year old daughters and me! I haven't seen her around smaller kids, so that's an unknown. She's excellent with my mom..who is not the biggest dog-lover but Emma has won her completely over. Emma is a truly smart...and often very comical pup - true to her breed!! What a gem of a best friend for a family with older kids or retirees who wants to include a very cute and fun dog in their lives. Emma has the potential to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special girl her forever family. Emma will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 9/2/16. Cairn Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dillon is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a soft kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with the golden and beige streaks that run through his beautiful coat. Once Dillon gets a sudsy bath and his first haircut, he will absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 9 - 12 months old and 10 lbs, Dillon is a perfect weight to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet small dog is welcome... while being large enough to be a great hiker or power walker. Dillon, being a sensitive pup, is very frightened in the Kansas high-kill shelter. Yet when ... (Read More)you hug him tightly, he responds with a gentle kiss and look of love. We look forward to Dillon finding a nurturing forever family so he never has to be frightened again. Dillon is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a gentle, well-behaved pup. At this early point in Dillon's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Dillon to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Dillon to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. We also feel that Dillon would be most comfortable with an adult or retired family.. or one with older kids 12+ where voices are softer and the energy is calmer. Right now, Dillon is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Dillon becomes so loyal once comfortable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Dillon is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. We've requested that Dillon be neutered prior to his transport to Denver (he will be up to date on his vaccinations). We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Dillon's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Dillon appears to be a lightly-shedding guy with a beautiful coat that speaks of both breeds in his mix. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his golden coat healthy and matt-free. Dillon is arriving on transport in Denver in late August/early September 2016. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very loyal and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.     There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Ruby, at only 12 weeks old and about 4 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 8 - 10 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Ruby is also incredibly beautiful...with the adorable mask and pure white hair that has come out since she received a good, sudsy bath after her release from the shelter. The BMC is also an extremely smart breed who by nature bonds and falls in love with their family easily They are also very sensitive dogs that are very attune to their master's voice. Cavalier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

If you're searching for a devoted and loving best friend....Ethan is the pup you want to have around! Ethan, at just 18 - 24 months old and 25 lbs (the perfect size for hiking and outdoor fun), is just naturally a lover ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Ethan is a truly beautiful Cavalier (love his beautiful feathered legs) mixed with a Corgi. Ethan has all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs two of the most popular breed mixes around. Ethan enjoys his time with his foster mom so much that he joins her just about everywhere she ... (Read More)goes...it's important to Ethan to be a true best friend! He loves his people more than anything and would definitely win a lap-dog (or couch hogger) award. Ethan cuddles close on the couch with his beautiful head draped over his favorite person's leg...an occasional kiss from Ethan is inevitable. He's a sensitive guy and derives so much joy from his time spent with kind, dog-loving people. Ethan is a young, healthy guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another kind and gentle dog to play with (although if his family is loving and present, Ethan would do fine alone as well). He would love nothing more than to lie in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day with a doggie or human friend. Ethan would have so much fun exploring and taking long walks along the Colorado trails. He is always open to new activities...just say the word and up he jumps for a car ride or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood. Ethan's foster mom had the following to say to brag about this sweet Cavalier/Corgi: Ethan is a stunning Cavalier mix (or so he's been identified by the Texas vets) with a beautiful face and the prettiest eyes ever (his photos don't do him justice..he's gorgeous). Ethan is 18 - 24 months old, weighs 25 lbs and just gets smarter and more engaging every single day (but I'm sure I'm biased :-)). Ethan is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! I would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling) or active retirees who have the time (maybe a positive reinforcement group class?) and love for a very loyal and kind dog. I'd hate to see Ethan left alone all day while his family works full-time. I think he's too sensitive for that. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Ethan in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A continuing group training class promotes great behavior and confidence for a young guy just learning about the world. Ethan appears to be a lightly shedding pup. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his amazing coat (with those beautiful golden markings) cottony-soft and matt-free. We're requested that Ethan be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it doesn't...Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ethan's neuter and microchip if our Denver area vet is used. Ethan will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Tuesday 8/30/16.     The Jack Russell/Maltese mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets...and since they require a certain amounts of exercise and absolutely love being with their people...if a walk is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to run joyfully and energetically on Colorado trails ...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. ... (Read More)Maggie is an absolutely adorable and engaging girl who favors the coat and intelligence of the Jack Russell while taking on the very engaging and cuddly qualities of the Maltese . She appears to be a non-shedding or very lightly shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy. As she loses the old hair of her shelter days, Maggie's coat will grow in shining and less likely to shed. Maggie's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes playmates everywhere she goes. Maggie is a social girl (once comfortable) and that means everyone she meets can be a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Maggie's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Maggie goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Maggie is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Terriers. While a bit fearful over her earlier life, Maggie is very open to new friends and lots of love in her life. At about 3.5 - 4 years old and a perfect lap-sitting size of 6.7 lbs, Maggie has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would like to see Maggie in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's a true family girl and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Maggie would be a wonderful companion for retirees or a family with older, dog-loving kids who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Maggie doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Maggie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/26/16. Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Marley is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts his tiny head on your shoulder. He's so new and fresh with every possibility open to him. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Marley (and his 4 siblings)...she could see that all their temperaments were so sweet and endearing that she couldn't allow any of them to be euthanized. Marley was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a great Houston foster home to ... (Read More)receive pure love and begin his education. It turns out that Marley, (at 16 weeks old and about 8 lbs..anticipated to be approximately 15 lbs when full grown) is such a cuddle-bug...he's so sweet and endearing! Marley snuggles up and is a cuddly lap dog...and then watch out - puppy energy! Marley is so playful and so engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom. Marley is cute as a button and very entertaining. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Marley continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans, he will become a well-adjusted and well-behaved adult companion. Marley is a beautiful Schnauzer/Terrier mix puppy with the blackest of black and a pure white chest. Due to fleas and extreme stress while on death row, Marley (and his siblings) have varying degrees of dermatitis which results in hair loss. This is easily remedied with great nutrition, no fleas and lots of love and gentle handling resulting in calm within the puppy. Marley's calm yet silly demeanor is just who he is...he just appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Marley will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this very sweet puppy. We also feel it's very important that he is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Marley would be overjoyed with walks/hikes along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Marley can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Marley may be arriving in Boulder unfixed due to his very young age. Farfel's requested that he be fixed prior to transport. If this isn't the case, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Marley's neuter and microchip. Marley appears to be a non-shedder (or a very light shedder). Lots of sudsy baths and grooming combined with great nutrition (coconut oil is a great addition) will result in this puppy's coat becoming healthy and silky-soft. Marley will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/19/16. Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our sweet and beautiful Megan couldn't be more of a love bug no matter how hard she tried. Megan is a 2.5 - 3 year old Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Terrier mixes have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) coats and sweet and loyal personalities Farfel's rescues almost every Cairn mix that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be loyal and loving family members. Megan has all these wonderful traits and was ... (Read More)described by her Texas foster mom as a perfect lap dog. Megan had a challenging period of time but is now safe and soundë'█|never to be cold or hungry again. But with it allë'█|Megan doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Megan is young, she's somewhat of a blank slateë'█|open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Megan tends to be a happy girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Megan gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's lap for belly rubs and soft touches. Megan loves to come along (and is very portable at 18 lbs)..be it a hike on a beautiful trail, running errands or just hanging outë'█|Megan would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere. We envision Megan as an only-dog in a home that will provide her with tons of love, exercise and mental stimulation. We think that Megan would be ecstatic to get all the attention for the first time in her life. Children and other dogs are scary to her and we therefore are searching for an adult, single dog home. She'll be a very confident and happy best friend in this type of family. Megan wouldn't be happy spending long hours aloneë'█|she is far too people-oriented to be content with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Megan would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's truly loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident companion and best friend. Megan appears to be either a non-shedding or very lightly shedding girl. Therefore she will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (the addition of a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her coat healthy and gorgeous. Megan is being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up. If interested in this very sweet girl who is a loyal best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder CO 80302.     Max looked every bit the stray as he came into a very high-kill shelter in Texas. It was possible that this beautiful Shih Tzu mix (with the most expressive dark eyes ever) had never had a haircut or a bath in his entire 1.5-2 year life. Max represents the sad opportunism that is so present in breeding what is looked at as designer breeds. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfullyĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%BD'Ľ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%BD|and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. But under all that hair and matts is a gorgeous 15 llb guy with the sweetest soul ever. After a sudsy bath, a shaving of his matts (coconut ... He has a wonderful disposition and through it all, strongly has the desire to love and be loved. Max is never one to turn down a loving lap or a friendly canine companion. He tries so hard to show that he's worthy of a permanent family to adore and respect him. His little tail wags hesitantly when he sees a possibility for a pat or a loving gesture. Max would be overjoyed with family love and attentionĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%BD'Ľ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%BD|it would bring a light to those sad eyes!
