Rescue Me ID: 17-05-19-00207Jax (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jax is an adorable 12 week old, 12 pound Labrador / Boxer mix, in search of his forever home in Colorado. When our rescuers in Houston saw this sweet boy brought to their shelter as a stray street pup, they immediately contacted us because they were certain this baby deserved a life of love in Colorado. We agreed, and stepped in to save him from his pending euthanasia. Jax is the type of mix that will be a true people dog. He enjoys humans of every age group ...so we are searching for an active family to adopt him. We also envision Jax with a very active retired couple or individual who want a kind and adorable guy in their lives. He would ... (Read More)be overjoyed with time spent...hiking, exploring and then flopping down on the couch together at day's end. Jax would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people. He could be a perfect office dog in a dog-friendly workplace after an opportunity to attend group obedience classes and puppy play groups. Farfel's is very happy to provide names of approved positive reinforcement trainers in your area. These classes teach both the dog and family how to use new behavioral skills..and therefore develop a strong bond and great behavior out in the world. Jax can initially have moments of shyness from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great pup past any insecure feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned. Jax will be neutered and up to date on his vaccinations prior to his transport to Denver, although due to his age, he will still need his next booster shots. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Jax's microchip and next booster shots if our Denver vet is used. Jax will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday, 5/27/17. If interested in this sweet and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-15-00495Gizmo / Tessa (female)

Corgi Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current

What a sweet and kind Corgi mix Gizmo / Tessa is! At about 4 years old, Gizmo / Tessa is an incredibly adorable girl. We were so lucky to find her and be able to rescue her from euthanasia in a high-kill shelter. When she was identified with a great temperament, Farfel's spoke up to bring Gizmo to safety (and her new forever family) in Colorado. Farfel's Rescue has determined that Gizmo / Tessa needs a mellow home where she is an active and important member of the family. We believe that Gizmo / Tessa would blossom in an adult home (active retirees would be perfect) where there's a more predictable environment. She would be overjoyed to ... (Read More)spend parts of the day together either hiking or walking through the beauty of Colorado. Gizmo / Tessa (like all dogs) would benefit from positive reinforcement group obedience classes that included the whole family (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force free trainers in your area). Great training will give Gizmo / Tessa the skills she needs to be an excellent adult dog and create a tightly-knit bond with all family members. Gizmo / Tessa will be up to date on her vetting. We're hoping that she will be spayed when she arrives from New Mexico. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too few vets is this area of New Mexico. If she is not, Farfel's will cover all costs for Gizmo / Tessa to be spayed/microchipped by our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be part of the solution to pet overpopulation. Gizmo / Tessa will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 5/13/17. Applications are currently being accepted for this very beautiful girl. Adoption applications can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this sweet and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-14-00186Senga / Jasmine (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

In the words of Senga's Colorado foster mom... 'This lovebug Senga is a gem. Good to her core, loyal and sweet. She politely greets every person and dog she meets. She is equally as happy snuggling on the couch as she is going for a run or walk. Senga has such good manners and is insanely smart and eager to please. She is a stunner inside and out'. Farfel's Rescue was notified by our compassionate rescuer in New Mexico that a very beautiful and sweet Australian Shepherd mix (maybe with just a touch of Red Cattle Dog) would be scheduled for euthanasia in just a few days. Senga aka Jasmine is beautiful...with the softest and kindest eyes ... (Read More)that just reach into your heart. The rescuer spoke of this 18 month old, 35lb sweetheart as a gift of love. These very popular Australian Shepherds are now being opportunistically bred for their beautiful looks and sweet and very intelligent personalities. After one look at the sad eyes staring out of the shelter photo and reading the reports of Jasmine's sweetness that speaks of a desire to trust and bond...we accepted her immediately into Farfel's Rescue. Senga was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and went home with her rescuer (who fell in love with her). We've committed to finding Jasmine a kind and very loving family who will enjoy her for her devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Jasmine becomes comfortable in her surroundings, she is a friend that will make you laugh at her antics and want to hold her tight just because she's so incredibly cute! We would love to see Jasmine in a home where she becomes a true member of the family. Active retirees or individuals who work out of the home would be perfect for this sweet young girl. Jasmine appears to have a calm side that loves nothing more than to settle into her person's lap (or lying close on the couch) and stay put with an occasional lick and a smile of delight at her good fortune. Senga / Jasmine has a gorgeous coat that will require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing. Great nutrition and care will keep Jasmine's beautiful coat cottony-soft and healthy. Senga / Jasmine has been spayed and is doing very well learning basic commands such as Sit, Come, Stay. She's housebroken, too! Farfel's will be happy to also cover her microchip if our Denver vet is used. If you are interested in providing a wonderful home for this very sweet, smart, loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

When Shadow's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the beautiful (and extremely dirty and matted) Shadow tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Cocker Spaniel (mix?) is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Shadow became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future. Shadow is very food motivated and seems to know some basic commands, such as sit and stay. With a little training ... (Read More)help and positive reinforcement, he should easily become the most wonderful dog family member /best friend! He enjoys car rides, belly rubs, and beef knee bone treats! Shadow's foster mom in Boulder says that he is house trained, too! And, he gets along with cats! We think he's pretty perfect! At just about 5 - 6 = years old and 21 lbs, this very beautiful guy is just waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog he's capable of being. Cockers are known to be gentle, happy, and smart companions. We'd love to match Shadow to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it. Here is what Shadow's Texas foster had to say about him... 'Shadow is a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel mix. He's very sweet and affectionate towards humans & dogs. He has super star loose leash walking skills and always keeps his kennel clean. His name is a perfect fit because his favorite place to be is with his people!' :) Shadow will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 5/12/17. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-18-00198Finn (male)

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

When Finn's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Kansas shelter, she was shocked to see the beautiful (and extremely dirty and matted) Finn tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Terrier mix is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Finn became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future. At just about 7 - 7.5 years old and 23 lbs, this very beautiful guy is just waiting waiting for positive input and guidance to be ... (Read More)the best dog he's capable of being. We'd love to match Finn to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it. Finn gets lots of attention when he's out and about...he's engaging (while a bit shy at first) and as sweet as can be. He's also extremely eye-catching...he appears to be a Wheaten/Cairn.. but we would never swear to it. He's just an adorable and fun scruffy Terrier that's irresistible! When Finn turns that gentle look in your direction (with those amazing dark and expressive eyes), you can't help but smile at his adorable ways. You can see a bit of a sign that this pup has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Finn's style. It's clear that he is working on leaving any pain behind. Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family for Finn. It's not that he doesn't like young kids..it just appears that Finn is more comfortable around adult energy. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this guy. He would thrive on the time and attention that retirees often put into their pets. Finn, once bonded, will be a loyal and positive companion....that makes him very easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Finn enjoys time with dogs who are gentle, but doesn't really care about interacting. He's a very calm guy who prefers to spend his time getting belly rubs and enjoying his family. Finn appears to be a non-shedding guy and will therefore require a commitment to grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free. We've requested that Finn be neutered/microchipped prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of Kansas. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Finn's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Finn will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 4/19/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and family-oriented guy, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-08-00289Noah (male)

Westie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Noah would be that perfect companion for a dog-loving adult family that is searching for a true best friend. At just about 12 - 18 months old and 7 lbs, Noah is a very portable guy that can be a full-time companion.. accompanying his guardians everywhere a small and very sweet dog is allowed. Noah's wonderful foster mom found a carrier for him...it's perfect for keeping Noah close and secure while socializing him to the outside world. Noah was a last-minute save for us...he would have been euthanized in a dismal New Mexico shelter if kind rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This little dog is just so awesome with ... (Read More)his whole life lying in front of him. He just requires the gift of patience and understanding..and time to acclimate to his new home in his own way. Noah came from a life that was heartbreaking. It's clear that he was unloved and disrespected in a puppy mill. He was used, in the most awful conditions, to create more high-priced puppies..and so the cycle of abuse goes on. Noah was one of the very lucky ones that got rescued and transported to dog-loving Colorado. He was incredibly lucky again to be placed with an intuitive foster who knew exactly the right thing to do. She and her family assessed Noah's challenges from his previous life and spent a month or more simply making him feel safe. Through their efforts, Noah has emerged as a sweet and loving dog who will grace a home with his resilience and new-found love of life. Noah may be frightened initially since rehoming is scary...but with love, treats, patience and nurturing, we feel certain that he will emerge as a loving family member who will bring his special gifts to his favorite people as well as gentle, like-sized companion dogs. We envision Noah with a patient and kind retired couple or individual...he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their laps and enjoying everyday life together. It's not that Noah is a needy guy...he just loves the company of his humans who respect and love him exactly as he is. Noah is being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-04-00160Hannah (male)

Corgi Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It got scarily close to Hannah's euthanasia time in a dismal Texas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of her own..it's all a matter of space. Hannah came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate rescuer (she has a soft spot for beautiful, sweet, at-risk pups!), Hannah was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. Her rescuer and shelter workers haven't stopped raving about this adorable girl ever since. Hannah, at 9 - 12 months old and 26 lbs is a perfect size to be a great ... (Read More)hiking partner...Colorado is such a perfect home for this sweet girl. She's a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany her favorite person on paths or trails. We envision Hannah with in an uncomplicated, adult dog-crazy family. She would be overjoyed with spending her days with retirees who have the time and desire to include a beautiful and sweet girl in their lives. She would also be a great addition for a younger, active individual or couple. She would be overjoyed with the time and attention that these dog-crazy families put into their pups. Hannah will be a very family-oriented and loyal, very loving pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this girl. A fun time for Hannah would be walks, hikes exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent just enjoying each other's company. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Hannah than to snuggle down on the couch..just hanging out with her family. Hannah can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to the home that's just right for her. She is a low-maintenance dog (completely house trained and very respectful of her home) whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. She would shine with a visit from a positive reinforcement trainer ..and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and her people. Hannah's Houston foster family described her as a lovebug and a sweetpea...she received one of the best foster report cards and temperament reports that we had ever received. Sadly, when Hannah went into what we had hoped would be her forever Colorado home..it was a mismatch. Our search now is to respect Hannah's great traits, and find exactly the right family for her. Hannah is being fostered in a home in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
